A Venetian lace "Point de Neige"
About 1690. This extremely fine
piece of an end 17th century Lace is in mint condition without any restorations
made which is rarely the case for laces of such old age. This Lace was used as a
headdress (called "Fontange" originating at the court of Louis XIV)
and can be considered as a museum quality piece. It comes from the well known
British collection of Lady Strachey formed between 1890 to 1930.
